This degree offers you the opportunity to obtain crucial experience that will help you distinguish out from the competition through special Arden initiatives.
  • Students can work with the school’s Programme Development Team to shape our programs through the Virtual Programme Group (VPG). Selected students will play a pivotal part in creating new degrees by offering the team invaluable feedback.
  • Volunteer Lecturing Assistant (VLA): As a VLA, you will collaborate with our faculty members, obtaining important experience in higher education, boosting your self-esteem, and enhancing the active learning environment at Arden. Entry requirements

Applications are reviewed on an individual basis. We would be pleased to talk about your application if you have a lot of job experience, credentials from other education programs, or a degree or certification that isn’t directly related to this degree.

Eligibility

Standard entry requirements

To be eligible for the BA (Hons) Criminology and Psychology, you should normally have:
  • Two subjects at GCE A level or equivalent, plus passes at grade C or above in three subjects at GCSE level or equivalent; OR​
  • Completed a recognised Access Programme or equivalent.
  • If you don’t currently hold the above qualifications, we also offer this course with an additional foundation year, which is designed for students who need extra support when starting their degree course.

Non standard entry requirements

If you can demonstrate to us that you have relevant job experience that calls for the use of analytical and critical thinking skills, we would be pleased to review your application. We’ll need references, proof of your prior employment, and a personal statement that highlights your drive and aptitude for pursuing this degree.

English proficiency

  • IELTS 6.0 (no less than 5.5 in any element); or TOEFL iBT 80; or equivalent
  • Alternatively, evidence you have previously studied in English, such as a letter to show that the Medium of Instruction was in English, can be accepted. 
We also offer an internal English test for applicants who are unable to provide the above evidence of English proficiency.

Whilst you can read your study materials on your smart phone or tablet, to make the most of your learning experience, you will need access to a laptop or computer (we recommend one running the latest version of Windows), and a good stable internet connection.
